to go and be making some digging that was when i realized um the founder jimmy kohen
i realized um he won the uh he's a guinness world record holder for planting I think 30,000 plus trees in
Kenya that was back in 2020 2024 around April so I was just making my research the the thing that
wowed me or that even made me say no this one is actually born for this that's what he was
sent for he planted his first tree at the age of four
what i know about kids is that um children they go around and then they play they play with sand more often in africa i don't know about other places play with sand building houses with sand
and all those stops but when i saw he planted his first tree at the age of four i was like what
and well i can go on and on because i made a lot of research but seriously history
gen is something that is good so i just i just came i'm even with my book now i'm with my book
now i wish it is because i'm taking some jottings and three gen most grew thank you very much for

way by spending that time really learning about things. And bro, it means a lot that you spent
that time learning about tree gens. It really does, bro. And yeah, it's true. I applied to my
first shoe when I was four years old. The reason for that, my mother is like a environmental activist and artist and they were actually
illegally cutting down a lot of trees where I was I was born in a little town called Avalon in the
Sydney northern beaches I know my accents all over the place now because I haven't actually like lived
there since I was 11 but but I was born there and and they were illegally cutting these trees
to build to construct and so she was campaigning
she literally walked for hundreds and hundreds of kilometers to prevent this illegal deforestation
so she was campaigning she was using her art with messages and she rallied like thousands of people
taking action to prevent this and eventually she did make a big big uh mark there but uh but we
also planted a lot of trees and that's, that's when I, you know,
planted my first tree. It was a eucalyptus gum tree. And that kind of planted the seed because
it was around like, okay, now like koalas, for example, are in danger because of this illegal
deforestation. And then when the forest fires just engulfed my home country of Australia in 2019,
you guys might've seen on the news, like that was one of the worst forest fires in history. There were 3 billion animals just burnt alive. 3 billion. There's like 500 of Holocaust,
you know, like it's, it was, it was heartbreaking to watch like just video after video. When most
people see messed up things, they look away. I forced myself to watch those videos and, um,
you know, these sentient beings, right? Like animals obviously feel pain just like you and
I feel pain and they were suffocating on this smoke and they were being burnt alive by the
billions. And I felt so horrible, like the world's a messed up place until I took some action.
So this is back in the Facebook fundraiser days. I did like a video live stream. I launched a
fundraiser. And as the donation started coming in, donation after donation after donation,
I felt this like rush, like this energy just flowing through me like, oh, snap, we can actually
do something about this. You know, like we're not hopeless, like we can take action and make a
difference. And I've just been leaning into that feeling ever since. You know, like that's what's
fueled me to plant trees for 24 hours and break the Guinness World Record. That's what's fueled me to plant trees for 24 hours and break the Guinness World Record. That's what fueled me to, I once went live for 60 straight hours, six zero, interviewing a new person almost every
single hour. That was to get the attention of Mr. Beast. Now we have four points of contact. I'm
having discussions with Beast Philanthropy. I also, with my brother, Will T, Web3.TGN, also,
we did seven, 24-7 live streams for 15 straight days on seven different occasions.
And we had many different hosts and that was a big team effort.
But I was there pretty much every waking hour, bro.
And that fuel, you can't bring that kind of energy, that kind of determination purely through money.
Just ask bankers.
They're not working like that.
But that's the intrinsic motivation, right?
There's extrinsic and there's intrinsic motivation.
A book I really recommend going through is Drive.
So Drive talks about the difference between extrinsic and intrinsic. So extrinsic is like, everyone knows about this, the carrot and the
stick, right? Like, oh, here's a reward. And then here's the carrot. If you can get punished,
you can get fired if you don't do the thing, or you get this reward, this bonus, whatever,
if you do do the thing. That's like the traditional way of motivating. And that's kind of limited,
right? You're not going to do your best life's work
purely through the carrot and stick method. But the intrinsic motivation, this has three key
pillars. Number one is purpose, right? What's the bigger calling? What's the bigger reason why we're
here? What is that purpose? Why are you doing this? That's the reason I always start with why.
That's the reason I'm always like reconnecting to my purpose and that bigger calling.
That's the core fundamental pillar of intrinsic motivation.
You need that.
And then there's mastery.

Learning about something.
Leveling yourself up.
That is also a really great motivating factor, right?
They say like stagnant water is you know
unclean it's unsafe to drink it goes bad but if you're continuously flowing if you're growing
movement that is what can also unlock a lot of motivation and then thirdly is autonomy right
no one wants to be micromanaged and told exactly what to do in exact way, like, and have zero freedom in
your life, right? But if you have freedom of approach, if you have some control over your life,
if you have that autonomy, that's another intrinsically motivating factor.
So those are the three pillars of intrinsic motivation. And you definitely got to try to
unlock each of those three. Okay, the final thing that I want to share about why mangroves are so key and important,
and this is on the test, okay, to become a tree agent's ambassador, is how scalable they are, you know.
Because if you want to plant, let's say, like a eucalyptus gum tree or an oak tree or, you know,
vast majority of trees, you need to do a nursery process, right?
So you take the seed, you germinate the seed, you majority of trees, you need to do a nursery process, right? So you take the seed,
you germinate the seed, you water the seed, and you've got this plastic container around it,
and you've got these nurseries, and it's like a multiple month long process, right? It took like
three months. With mangroves, and this is the majority of the mangrove species, not all of
them, but the majority, there's something called a propagule. A propagule kind of looks like a stick and it has the seed inside of it. And when these propagules are ready, like,
for example, Cereops tagal or Rhizophore species, you can just take it off the tree or you can find
it on the ground if it's not, you know, totally sun damaged. And you simply take that propagule
and you stick it in the ground and that's it. It germinates in the ground. So that whole process of meeting nurseries and
spending months and getting the plastic, which is obviously not good for the environment,
and then you've got to transport it to the location, and then you've got to dig the hole,
and then you've got to unwrap it and hope the plastic doesn't get wasted and polluting and
all that different stuff. You bypass all of that. You can take the propogal, you can stick it in
the ground. And that's what's so, so scalable about these trees.
Not only are they sequestering up to 10 times the carbon, not only do they help with all
the animals that thrive around them, but they're also super scalable.
And that's another one of our core values, right?
Is scalable, positive impact.
Like every tree counts, but we've lost 2 trillion of them, you know, and like 8.1 million people
die every year because of the air that they breathe. I'm not okay with that. We need scalable
solutions and we all need to take massive action towards doing that. And mangroves is a great way
to do that. And hallelujah, we got a lot of Nigerians in the grow immunity because Nigeria has more mangrove trees than any other African nation. Let's grow. Shout out to Mac Hattie. Hey bro, going back to the learning
