I forgot to enable video on this shit.
I don't think I can turn it on now.
So no video this morning.
But I guess we're going back to the old ways.
This is just going to be an audio space.
It's going to be fun no matter what.
Again, I forgot to enable video.
We are back for another big week.
GM Jess, awesome to see you here.
I am still waking up like I do.
But I'm happy to be here.
Come on up and hang out if you'd like.
We are going to be covering off on the latest and greatest from around the web.
Three space like we do, of course.
Because this is GM Web 3, the greatest morning show ever invented on any platform and in any
universe or on any timeline.
And it's largely because of y'all.
It's the greatest show ever because of you.
Hopping in here as we kick off another exciting week.
Got to get my soundboard powered up here.
Got to make sure everything's working.
I mean, obviously, one of the biggest things that we'll be covering and following up on
is all of the crazy, hectic stuff happening with meme coins.
There's the pre-sale meta that's been happening.
I would say it's still happening, but we're already seeing some maybe hangover from a weekend of
incredible degeneracy that has just taken place.
A lot of the pre-sales that I was watching or that I even participated in because, of course, I am only human.
I am not immune from participating in some of this more ridiculous behavior.
A lot of them seem to be down pretty bad this morning.
Seems like everything's sort of taking a moment, taking a step back.
Let's see if I can pull up a couple of these.
A couple of the bigger ones over the weekend were Snap and NOS.
And then there was, of course, a couple of rugs to be expected.
And then the bigger one this morning that we'll talk about that, was it a rug?
It's kind of an interesting situation.
It's definitely doing okay after the person, the pre-sale money was all burned.
So this is a really interesting story, breaking story happening right now that we'll dig into.
Yeah, lots to talk about.
And then, of course, other things happening in the NFT space and crypto in general that we'll be getting into.
The dog with hat meme, the original photo selling for lots of money.
If there's one takeaway that you take away from the show today, that's it.
I hope that you study memes.
I hope that in your spare time, you are studying book of meme and memes.
Because that's part of what I'm going to be talking about today.
I've been trying to figure out, figure my way through what is my grand thesis.
Around memes and what's happening.
I got big ideas about this kind of stuff.
But you should be forming your own thesis, I think.
If you take one thing away from GMWeb3 today, I hope that's it.
And GM Kerry Ross, GM Cats Fanatic, great to have you with us.
Come on up and hang out if you'd like.
We're waking up together.
Let's get some fucking energy in the room.
Let's get some friends in here.
This is going to be a valuable space, as it always is.
So let's get some more friends in here.
And we're going to throw it back to You Got That.
Our OG theme song for the show.
Because, of course, we've been doing it 354 episodes now.
We've probably had three or four different theme songs at this point.
Let's fucking pump it up.
I pulled up the snap chart.
I want to look at that and follow up on that.
Again, it does feel like this morning everything is kind of down, correcting.
I think there's a hangover.
I think the degeneracy got a little bit too degenerate over this weekend.
I think everybody was getting out of control a little bit.
And so the market's being like, hey, hey, calm down.
Yo, Knox picked up a fucking dropper.
I was going to post the high quality version, but shout out to you.
Speaking of posting things, I'm also going to go ahead and start pinning things up at your mom's house.
But, of course, that's not what we call it anymore.
That is your mom's house up top.
That's where everybody's going.
And that's what I'm going to start doing right now also as we get into the news.
If you haven't shared out the room, go ahead and do that.
It's really the only and best way to support the show and everything that we do here on the network.
Go down there to the bottom right corner or up at the top where the arrow button is.
Give it a little thumb action.
It only takes a moment, but it makes a big difference.
And we appreciate those of you who do it.
So, I'm getting some things pinned.
I'm trying to figure out how I want to tackle it.
I'm starting with the meme coin stuff early.
Quick sort of recap of some of the crazier things.
And then there's a lot of other breaking things to talk about.
You know, late last week, Starbucks Odyssey news.
Is there now Artifact news?
Dot swoosh things happening?
We're going to have to talk a little bit about all of that.
Of course, Dog Whiff Hat fits into the meme coin convo.
We're going to be covering that.
A bunch of big stuff coming up and happening on Ordinals.
Oni Force the Fallen happening soon.
Make sure to submit your Ordinals address to their system.
Connect it to your ETH wallet if you haven't done that already.
But yeah, there's quite a few different things happening right now.
So, I'm trying to get everything organized.
But we are starting with the meme talk.
We're just going to give people what they want.
We're just going to get straight into what everybody's looking for.
Shut up and just say the fucking ticker, fam.
This fucking world, right?
The pre-sale meta has been hot and heavy.
So, of course, I know most of you know what I'm talking about.
But in case you don't, as this shit started to heat up, really, all of this spun out of Book of Meme.
Book of Meme fucking killed it.
New meme coin launches doing well.
You know, we obviously know Dog With Hat.
There's a bunch of other new meme coins that are all doing very well.
But especially Book of Meme.
Which, by the way, is down to like $700, $800 million today.
It's way down to like an $800 million market cap this morning.
So, buying opportunity, maybe.
But coming out of that, we've just seen everybody going absolutely nuts.
And, of course, one of the greatest metas to ever meta in the Web3 space is this pre-sale meta.
Where people basically just post a fucking wallet online and say, send me your money.
And there's nothing else other than like, I'm going to watch a token, I swear.
Just send me your fucking money.
So, of course, that's been happening.
And so, that's kind of like the context that sets up the beginning of where we are now.
And what we're getting into.
But I have to say, GM to Mo Ronda.
I'm excited for this conversation.
I'm happy that you're here.
You know, we did have some people late last week asking specifically for like a meme coin or shit coin, alt coin trading class.
So, I do want to dig more into that.
I don't know if we're going to get into like the how-to aspect of like best practices per se today.
But if there are specific questions that you, Mo, or any of our friends in here hanging out with us have, feel free to drop those in the comments along with your eggplants and peaches and other awkward things that you like to share.
And we can do our best to field those too.
Because I do know that a lot of people are starting to, you know, maybe like people that haven't been as degenerate as some of us have been are starting to want to play around with meme coins a little bit more.
They see that this is becoming a bigger part of the larger crypto ecosystem and not just a silly little sideshow that I think most people have treated it as.
That's getting into my sort of bigger thinking, bigger theses, thesis.
But right now, Mo, we're talking about what's been happening over the last couple days, of course.
We've got this fucking pre-sale meta that is absolutely the most ridiculous high-risk shit you could ever do.
Where you're basically just throwing your money into a fucking dark void, into a dumpster and hoping that there's not a fire lit inside of it.
So, that's literally what it is.
So, people throw up a wallet address.
They say, hey, send me your money.
I'm going to launch a token too.
We saw Snap raise $10 million.
They had to cut it off, fam.
So, Kiro is an artist, a D-Gen meme artist.
I'll go try and find that one and pin it up top if I can too.
Kiro was one of the first to sort of pick up on this and tweet out a wallet saying, hey, send me your money.
People sent, again, in less than 24 hours, he got inundated with over $10 million of Solana.
He had to cut it off and say, stop sending me money.
I can't put any more into the pre-sale.
And he did follow through.
This has been, I would say, one of the most successful of these new coins coming out of this pre-sale meta.
But, of course, even this morning, it's down quite a bit.
But still at like a $44, $45 million market cap snap token, which has his little alligator or crocodile.
I don't know the difference.
Is it a crocodile or is it an alligator?
And this thing shot up to about $250, about a quarter billy out of the gate in the first couple hours.
So, yeah, I would say this has been maybe the most successful or one of the most successful that I've been watching of this sort of pre-sale meta.
That launched about 24 to 36 hours ago.
It launched like Saturday night, I think.
I can pin that up top right there.
So, I do think some of these pre-sale coins will end up being pretty legit because they're coming from like a legit artist that has a real meme, that has a real community.
But, of course, most of them are not.
They're going to go to zero.
And some of them will never even make it to a coin.
Another one that we'll mention briefly that gets honorable mention is NOS, which is short for nostalgia.
This one coming from another pretty well-known meme artist, Satoshi's mom.
This one did not fare as well out of the gate as I think a lot of people were hoping, including me, because, of course, I sent money into this fucking wallet.
Y'all, let's go ahead and, again, since we are talking about meme coins out of the gate, we got to say this, Mo.
This is not financial advice.
This is not financial advice.
Yeah, nothing that we talk about on this show or any of the shows on the Web3 Network should ever, ever be misconstrued as financial advice.
We're not financial advisors.
Don't be doing dumb stuff with your money like I do.
Do your own research, NFA, all that.
That said, I did send a little bit to this wallet as well, to Satoshi's mom.
And this one, I think a lot of people were hoping would also do well.
It was pretty quick on the meta, you know, pretty quick following in Kira's footsteps.
But it just didn't have quite the same energy.
Still raised a lot of money.
It maybe got up to, I think, like 20 mil and then pretty quickly sort of dumped.
A lot of the pre-sailers have just been selling it off.
And it's now sitting at $6 million market cap.
I mean, again, for just like a fucking pre-sale wallet, it's still this morning sitting at a $6 million market cap.
But it does have more liquidity than market cap right now, which is awkward.
So, like, this one's in a weird position.
So, again, just because you're a good meme artist does not mean that you understand tokenomics or how to launch and maintain a token.
This is one of the biggest problems with this whole meta is that, like, it is true that you can launch a token and it's not that difficult to get people to gamble and speculate on your token a little bit right now.
But do you actually know how to properly launch a token, handle the tokenomics and maintain it and build it into a valuable thing?
I mean, that's a whole other story, you know.
And a lot of these people are just meme coin artists.
They're just internet, you know, people on the internet.
They're not necessarily tokenomics experts.
So, this one, unfortunately, I don't know what happens with NOS or Nostalgia right now.
Because I don't know, last time I've seen a project that had more liquidity than market cap.
I don't even know what that means.
Can someone tell me what happens next?
Somebody explain to me what that means.
Because that's a weird one.
Maybe I got to get ChadGBT up in here.
Maybe I'll just ask ChadGBT what happens.
What happens when a token has more liquidity than market cap?
Let's see if ChadGBT comes up with a good answer for that one.
Because I don't even know if I've seen that.
But speaking of weird scenarios, we'll keep it going here.
Talk about some other things while ChadGBT does the thinking for me.
We did, of course, have a couple rugs.
I think I heard Ticker might have been one.
I know there was another one where people, of course, just take the money that is sent to them and do nothing with it and disappear their accounts, etc.
Of course, that's already happened several times.
But maybe on the more strange side of things is Slurf.
Spelled S-L-E-R-F in case you were wondering.
This is the story of the day.
It's doing pretty well at the moment, despite a rocky start.
You know your name kind of rhymes with Slurf?
Nick Token was already enough to piss me off.
Let's start with this one.
Let's get some more homies in here.
What's up, Marty McFly, Chris Mullins, Art Snitch.
Come on up and chill if you'd like.
Yo, we got talk time in the castle.
Great to have you hanging out with us.
I forgot to enable video when I set up the room.
So we'll have to do video tomorrow.
This is like the old days here.
But yes, GM Swerve, a.k.a. Swerve.
What up, what up, what up, what up.
I'm not slurping shit up here.
We're hanging out at your mom's house.
What's the deal with slurf?
It's a strange situation.
Chris Coffey Eath did a good job of sort of recapping it.
That's pinned up at your mom's house if you want to check that out and follow along.
He says, GM, I'm just waking up to catch up.
But if you see this meme here, or if you see this meme, here is the TLDR.
$10 million in pre-sale funds were sent.
So this is very similar to what Kira received for Snap.
$10 million just sent to a random fucking wallet.
Again, this is not even just like a...
This isn't even a rare occurrence right now.
This is happening across a bunch of these fucking pre-sales.
So $10 million sent to a random fucking wallet for slurf.
And he accidentally burned it.
The dude accidentally burned $10 million.
Apparently, when he did it, he just tweeted,
Y'all, let me know in the comments.
If people just sent you $10 million
of a token that you promised them
and you accidentally burned it,
sent it to a burn address
because you're an incompetent...
This has got Aku vibes written all over it.
Is that the one you're talking about?
Yeah, that was even worse.
like, what's going to happen here?
I'm simultaneously sort of, like,
and still dismayed by it.
Because the artist basically lost,
like, we're talking about
a couple hundred thousand dollars
or even a million dollars.
We're not even talking about
We're talking about, like,
that he just disappeared.
that person's still here.
like, I think I'm kind of proud
and trying to wreck them entirely.
being completely wretched.
Because it could have been worse,
So, if we're going to follow up
he launches the token anyway.
from the pre-sale people,
nobody had tokens to dump.
because I have no fucking clue
Oh, the moral of the story
a little bit underwhelming.
I'm still not counting it out
and I think a lot of people

It's a big part of what I
But at least on Ethereum,
Solana, and base, I think
we're going to have like 25

you know, Feels Good Man.
because most people still
look at it with bombastic
just, it's hilarious that
I think where we're going,

the majority is all going
Everybody's going to try.
you're gambling too heavy
We're not saying like all

of them are, some of them
And it's got a possibility
Um, right on, but I think
it's, it's very expensive

you probably all know this,

And, and so just to finish

That's just another way to
Popular thoughts and ideas.
That's, that's what memes

And it's worth, you know,

It doesn't have to be more
Again, a lot of times vibes

It almost, it gets annoying
because I know some people
are going to be confused when
some of these things go to
these things are going to

Some of them are going to

you mentioned volume, you

Tomorrow, Carrie, come on
dive on trading meme coins
here on GM web three, but
with a couple more tickers.
I already set up my whole
found out about that I have
not bought into yet, but I'm
I think it's, I think it's

in on this one and I don't
know that much about it, but
I do think this is a legit
token that has potential.
advice, but I'm watching this
Uh, it's called normie, which
of course, again, is having
concept of normies coming in.
I found it on decks tools.
This one's been around for,
it looks like, uh, a week or
We'll say it marched around
And it is over $50 million
Um, so normie, I'm not in
watching it looking for an
I think this is a legit one
Again, don't fucking gamble
I feel like I've said that
a million times and I know
it's going to get annoying,
because I know somebody is
Anything you do with your
money is your fucking your
But I'm, I'm sharing, I'm
This is one that I started
I started buying into this
Uh, do your own research on
R I K U it's, it's a little
Um, I think the person that's
behind this might also be
somehow affiliated with the
I think what we're seeing is
people inside of Coinbase are
being told to experiment with
memes and I, I'm, I'm totally
editorializing and guessing
based upon like looking at
different things that I see
it, I could be completely
seeing what's happening with
blue, that Brian Armstrong
might be part of that, seeing
what's happening with this, that
it looks like the person behind
understanding that avalanche has
recently dedicated a lot of
resources to supporting meme
coins, that Solana is thriving
These ecosystems understand these
memes represent liquidity and
security and community for their
So I would not be surprised if
Coinbase has put out a challenge
to its employees because they've
got a bunch of fucking smart web
three people working over there
Why wouldn't you go to one of the
best resources you have to your
own people and say, Hey, just so
you know, we encourage y'all to go
use our L2 base and see if you can
spin up a project over there.
Why wouldn't they do that?
If I was Brian Armstrong, or if I
was running base, I would
absolutely be encouraging the
people that work there to go fuck
around and find out because you
know what, you might, you might get
listed on Coinbase if you create a
cool enough fucking meme coin or
token or NFT project or whatever it
You know, I heard, and this is just
And I heard, I read, I heard
someplace in all these rooms over the
last weekend that at AVAX, Avalanche
and Immutable X are looking to have
some announcements this week.
I actually started buying a little
bit Immutable X last night and I
think I'm going to buy some more
because I think I, I still don't own
any Ronin and I feel underexposed to
Last week, last week or two, I've
been saying, I think web three
gaming has been under the radar.
Meme coins have been front and
front and, uh, in focus and web
three gaming, I think is simmering
and it's, it's going to come back in
And I just, I feel like the web three
gaming meta is about to start picking
up in the next month or two.
So again, as far as where the puck's
going, zigging, when people are
zagging, uh, it might be a good time
to be looking at some of the, the
plays that you think will do very,
very good, uh, in general.
I'm not, I'm not even prescribing any
specific like games or anything right
now, but like just any of the plays
that you think are definitely going to
If gaming does well, if web three
gaming does well, you might want to be
looking in that direction, not financial
I, I think this is alpha again.
I don't know if you know it, but
No, I actually had, I had scrolled
away from, from the page.
Um, speaking of base and zigging
while everyone's zagging, um, I
don't, I know, you know, cause you,
you meant it the first one, but I
launched a collection on base on
Friday, exactly a week after, um,
Nick's infamous, you know, the
first video that he posted.
And so on that day I started, I
started doing these silly, like
AI generated very, you know, medium
Uh, but it was really fun and I did
So for the price of a coffee, you
can, you can mint one of these
pieces, um, and they're hilarious.
And so, uh, the zigging while everyone
is zagging, you know, uh, my tagline
is life is full of choices.
Choosing rich is just one of them.
I'm pretty sure I got token one on
You got rich, which is, which is
Pinned up at your mom's house.
Mo dropping some AI art on base.
I also dropped droppers on base, as
So yes, again, very bullish, trying
to be early over there, zigging
while everyone's zagging.
And, uh, yeah, I think that's your
It's also, yeah, there's, I just
That's what it's all about.
Actually, I think they get, they
get better, um, the higher up the
So you're telling me I should have
waited and gotten 69 instead of
Um, yeah, I mean, NFTs in general
are like the ultimate zig while
everyone's zagging right now.
Again, I said, I met a young, a
young fella, a young college bro,
young college crypto bro going to
USC at Soho yesterday and he's
buying board apes right now.
Uh, so yes, we, we will hit
NFTs before we jump out of here.
I'm trying to wrap up that meme
I mentioned Riku and then the other
three that are like sort of, I guess
the highest conviction plays that
you've probably already heard
everyone talk about, but I'll say
Those are Mochi, Toshi and Brett.
Those are three of the earliest meme
All pretty well established.
Uh, I am extremely bullish on Mochi.
I have a fair amount of Toshi.
I have zero Brett, but I'm watching
it and I'm, I want to get some, I
think it's doing a giant head and
So I'm like watching this retrace
that it's on, uh, and I have sort of
a, a buy-in area, a buying price or a
buying zone and it's not there yet.
So I hope it keeps dipping so I can
get some Brett, but I'm definitely
exposed on Mochi and Toshi.
On get on that, that little moment
of, of what you said, getting some
Brett, how, if you can go through how
to bridge to base and transfer, get
the conversions and everything
tomorrow, that would be cool too.
I will say one thing that I learned,
uh, later on in the process of
launching droppers, uh, literally
after it had like already minted
out, I learned this, I wish I knew
So I could have been telling
everybody, um, there's two ways
that I know to bridge and one of
them saves you a bunch of money.
So like you can, you can go to just
It's like base.org bridge and you
can bridge your, your, your ETH over
And that's great, but it does cost
you gas, which, you know, we've,
we've seen gray spiking over the
last couple of weeks, especially
with mean coins going crazy and it
can cost you like 50, 60, 70, 80
bucks if gas is high to do that
So not terrible, but it's not great.
If you go, I could just interject
That's because it's on the, on ETHL
It is an Ethereum layer too.
So yes, you're sending ETH over
there and you transact with ETH on,
Base does not have his own token.
I'm going to get more into this
I'm trying to give you the quick
stuff now, but like the one thing I
want to get to, it's really
Again, we're going to, we'll do a
deeper dive on all this tomorrow,
but if you send your ETH and you
bridge it from the Coinbase app, if
you, if you go to send ETH on
Coinbase to your like MetaMask
wallet, what they're doing now is
they're asking and they're being
like, Hey, would you like to bridge
Cause again, Coinbase gets to do
It's their fucking L2 and they're
trying to encourage people to start
using it and they can just fucking
integrate straight into Coinbase app
So if you send it and you bridge it
this way, they cover your fucking
So that 50, 60, 70, 80, $90 sometimes
that you would have to spend to bridge
Otherwise, if you do it from the
Coinbase app right now, they cover
If you, if you say, yeah, let me go
ahead and bridge some ETH right now.
So that's fucking legit alpha that I
Cause it would have saved me a couple
hundred dollars and probably
another wallet, a Coinbase wallet.
Uh, well through the Coinbase app or
probably the Coinbase wallet too.
If, if, if you go again, like, like
you're just sending it to your
MetaMask wallet, like you're just
sending like normally how you would
buy ETH on Coinbase and send it to
your MetaMask or something like that.
You can't buy ETH on Coinbase.
You have to go to their wallet.
That, I don't think that's true at
I'll have to go look again.
I've been, I've been buying and
trading ETH on Coinbase forever.
So yeah, I don't think that's true.
Uh, the point is if, if you're
sending it out, like you normally
send it from Coinbase to your
MetaMask wallet, it should prompt
you and ask you if you want to
And that is the superior way to
bridge right now because it saves
So, all right, I hit that.
I think Shia was the one that
So yeah, I see Shia down there
Uh, again, this community is
amazing when it comes together
and shares, uh, knowledge like
that because this space can be
everything I wanted to hit on
We're going to do a deeper dive
So come on back, follow web three,
follow me, gift ed up here.
Your humble web through Sherpa,
AKA the Goku of Ethereum.
Uh, but yeah, follow me, follow
web three, come on back tomorrow.
We'll do a deep dive on trading
meme coins, but all right, I want
to hit a couple of headlines
real quick and then we're
Normally we would be over on
NFT live right now, but that's
So we're going a few minutes
Thanks for hanging out with us.
Especially thanks to our amazing
co-hosts and contributors up
Also want, I want to throw this
out since we're hitting, uh,
Cake Nygaard is about to mint
little puppets on ordinals.
We are giving away a couple
We got gifted five whitelist
spots to give away to the
We're going to announce the
Uh, that is on the web three
If you scroll, you can find
that you can still get in on
Uh, quite a few entries, but
we're, we're going to get to
whitelist spots for that.
But that's happening, I think
Nygaard NFTs, which I know a
lot of people in here do, I
believe you can go register in
the caked world discord and get
on that whitelist for owning his
Cause again, I think little
puppets is minting on ordinals
Uh, all right, let's hit the
dog with hat thing real quick.
So dog with hat NFT sold, I
I'm going to pull it up real
The original image from the
original photographer has sold
as an NFT for 4.3 million,
This is one of the big stories
One of the biggest NFT sales in
a minute, uh, but shows you
again, we're, we're definitely
still very early in this cycle.
Uh, so yeah, the, the dog is
named Achi, I guess, but this
iconic photo that became the
meme dog with hat, uh, just
And, uh, yeah, it's over 1200
Um, yeah, it was a three day
So it was happening over the
A bunch of people were watching
it was on foundation and yeah, I
mean, there's nothing else to say
Like again, they, they did
recently also raise over 600 K.
Uh, it sounds like Carrie's
saying that there's still some
contractual issues that are
working through, but likely I
think we'll be getting dog with
hat that image that just sold on
Uh, so that's, that's just a
If anybody has anything else to
add to it, we don't have to
spend any more time on it, but
Nobody's got anything to add to
Another thing that's breaking
Um, so we, we hit this at, or
we didn't get to hit this
cause I think it happened after
the last GM web three of last
It was like a sad sort of end of
Starbucks Odyssey, their sort of
beta NFT program is shutting
It's sunsetting as they say in the
Um, it does seem like, and
again, if anybody can fill in any
blanks on this one, cause I, I
have not looked as deeply into
it as I should, but it does
seem like they're saying there
might be some other additional
So I, I'm not convinced that
this is the end of their web
three journey for Starbucks.
It might just be the end of this
like stamps thing, which again,
you know, they said it was in
So I guess the hope is that they
They created some, you know,
some early first Starbucks
NFTs and they're just going to
sort of shift their strategy and
I guess that would be my hope,
but we really don't know.
I do think it's, it's sad because
man, you know, we've been
covering this shit for a long
And I think there was, there was
Like there's a different timeline.
There's a whole different timeline
that exists out there somewhere
incredibly well, where Reddit
Starbucks Odyssey became the
sort of like standard bearers of
what it looks like for big web
two brands to integrate into
And they become just absolutely
Everybody loves them and they
just keep building out their web
three initiatives, initiatives
and providing a ton of value to
community holders and collectors
And it becomes like sort of the
future of, of how they engage
with, uh, the community and
There's another timeline where
Polygon is just fucking killing it
with these things, but we don't
Like we're in a timeline right now
where, uh, Starbucks Odyssey is
This Reddit seems to have sort of
been walking away from any sort of
Uh, I'm, I'm almost entirely sure
that a lot of this has to do with
their IPO that is still happening.
Uh, they just don't want any
association with web three right
now, even though like, you know,
a bunch of people over there now
actually like, like, like they did
such a good job of converting a
toxic community into believing in
And then they basically rugged it.
I mean, I know we overused the word
rug, but they literally like within
about a month span said, we're
going to be like supporting these
And they watched a bunch of NFTs and
we're all gung ho and then like
It feels like Reddit kind of rugged
their community on their web three
promises, which sucks to say.
I'm trying to find the date.
It was supposed to happen late last
year, but anyway, what's the point?
The point is, I think that a lot of
the reason why Reddit has, has
walked away from a lot of their web
three promises is because of this
They just don't want to have to deal
with regulatory scrutiny around any
of that shit as they're going
But yeah, so there's another
timeline where all this shit works
out and Polygon is a fucking total
Chad and one of the best L2s, but
they just, I don't think innovated
And now there's a bunch of L2s that
Um, like what is Polygon now?
I know they're doing other shit and I
know that like there's still some
cool stuff happening in that
ecosystem, but I also know a ton of
people that were building and me
being one of them in terms of people
that were like excited about what
they were doing and seeing a bright
future for them as sort of like
this, this brand platform provider.
You know, I just see them as, as a
great B2C play, but I don't think
they ever even really owned that.
So in this timeline, unfortunately, it
seems like Polygon, a lot of their
Starbucks Odyssey, Sunsetting, will
We're going to have to find out.
But the other breaking news to add
context onto this now is of course
choose Rich Nick, NFT Nick up here.
Um, he says that Nike might be
We should definitely get into that
Like, I think it needs to be discussed
in general, like a deeper.
Yeah, I mean, we can discuss it right
Um, I have a lot of thoughts, but, um,
I just, I think that it's, it's an
interesting play because I just don't,
I just don't know how, do you know
what the sales were like for the shoes
I mean, or is it, we could, we can
So this is, this is where it gets a
little bit confusing, convoluted.
So I think dot swoosh is its own
sort of collection slash brand
I don't think that dot swoosh
necessarily goes away, but, but we
If dot swoosh is being spun out of
Artifact, like clearly dot swoosh
is already in a tough spot.
I literally, my, the first thing
that I did when the Starbucks
odyssey news broke end of last
week is I went and I tweeted, I
announcement and I tweeted at dot
Hey, dot swoosh, you okay?
Because that was the first thing that
came to mind is I was like, oh no,
like dot swoosh has been silent.
They haven't been doing that much.
They've like dropped some shirts,
but like they were supposed to
launch their marketplace for their
Then they sort of like disowned it.
They said, oh, there'll be some
third party that can handle it
You've never even been able to buy
and sell and trade Nike's NFTs that
they fucking launched, launched the
You've literally never even been
So like clearly like dot swoosh got
off to an amazing start and then is
just like, I don't know if it's the
regulatory uncertainty and they
don't know how they're supposed to
handle this shit, but they haven't
really been able to deliver much
And so that was literally the first
place my head went was like, oh no,
does this mean dot swoosh is also
So I guess, I guess for me beyond,
you know, being able to purchase
really cool shoes, it's like, where's
the value being driven back to the
And so I think that for a lot of
these projects, especially ones that
have IRL utility, I think that there
needs to be some of that being
driven back to the holders.
And again, then you get into this
territory of like, well, is that a
That's the problem here is they don't
know the rules because our fucking
government's dragging their feet.
they're literally ruining so much
innovation and opportunity in the U.S.
So is this when Clonex is going to
So I literally have the chart for
Clonex pulled up in front of me and
that's where I was going next.
Clonex, if you look at the one month
chart, is just down only.
They're down to half an ETH floor right
This is, quote unquote, a blue chip.
It's maybe a purple chip.
I got a homie out here who's going to
Yeah, we all have friends in this
I got several friends that own
Clonex's that that were super
Nike bought artifact for a billion
This is just like a year, year and a
And now they're fucking closing it.
Again, I don't even know if this is
Nick, Nick is sharing this out like it
So we're kind of taking his word on
this that he has some inside info
because I haven't seen this anywhere
But assuming that this is true and
Nike is going to shut artifact down
after acquiring it for a billion
dollars in late twenty twenty one or
early twenty two, this is a man.
Artifact was one of the greatest
Web three native companies.
This was one of the biggest success
stories in all of Web three.
So that's like really fucking harsh
or that's hard for, I think, a lot
If that happens, they had a huge
ecosystem, ton of assets, a lot of
promises, a lot of expectations.
And so this is this is rough.
And I think you're right, Mo.
We can talk a little bit more about
tomorrow, but I'm I'm getting into a
So if any of y'all have anything else
to say about it, please do.
But if this is the case, this sucks.
And yeah, Clonex for is dipping.
You're asking about the shoe sales.
I know that a lot of it is on chain.
So like I'm going to go and see if I
Because, yeah, I know a lot of them
they've actually sold with NFTs.
So maybe we can get an idea.
But yeah, I mean, they had the
thousands and thousands of different
tokens, you know, that are out there
and they're part of this ecosystem.
I mean, it'd be super interesting to
kind of compare, say, like
besides something like this
and see, you know, like what
Yeah, I'd be very interested in that.
I mean, they definitely raise tons of
You know, there's definitely they had a
They had a lot of people believe
there's there's almost 7000
volume on just one of their
And they were selling for like
point two five point three ETH.
Sorry, I'm just trying to get like a
some of the volume that they're doing.
So like they definitely had volume.
They definitely made some money,
but it's just like how much were they
Were they just not hitting internal
Again, this is all we're all kind of
like speculating a little bit based
on this idea that Nike might be
But either way, again, this is if this
is true, this is a massive hit.
And I'm sure it'll it'll we'll be
talking about it more this week as
people sort of hear about it.
Maybe we get some official
It better be true or else Nick
might take a lot of heat for that.
I don't think he cares at this
That's the thing is like I think
he's he's rolling with the troll,
the troll M.O., the troll persona.
Yeah, there's like a whole new
like media show thing, media
property that they're spinning up
called Probably Nothing that he's
I don't know if you also haven't
It's also part of the reason why I
think that the Nick token is going
I've been playing that over the
weekend, but I don't think it's
So those of you who want the Nick
token and his big nose to just
disappear, I don't think it's going
Unfortunately, I think it's here to
I think the nose has legs.
I'm the first one that said that
if anybody else ever says it, you
I think the nose has legs, so I'm
going to keep playing that.
I'm going to keep watching it.
I think it's going to be around
and probably do OK this cycle.
Any other big things you want to
throw in here at the end?
Otherwise, we're going to wrap up
Those were some of the bigger
Oh, one of the biggest things we
have to throw in here, if we didn't
mention it like we're crazy.
Node Monkeys flipped the board
So Node Monkey is one of the biggest
Ordinals officially flipped the board
This is a really big deal.
It's definitely a big headline.
And a lot of Ordinals started to fly
I'm not entirely sure why, if it's
because like runes are coming.
Like, I don't know why all of a
sudden Ordinals just started picking
Maybe it's because Bitcoin dropped
And so the people that were like
selling to get back liquid into
their Bitcoin, that sort of sell
It's strange because it's like, you
know, you have these sort of like
ebbs and flows in the market.
But like sometimes it's obvious why
Sometimes it's less obvious.
But for whatever reason, Ordinals
really started flying again
Bitcoin puppets crossed 0.25 BTC, I
think, for the first time.
And they've retraced a little bit
But yeah, nodes sitting over 0.7
Bitcoin and the four prizes above
So are we talking number of NFTs
We're talking in dollar price.
Well, you know, of course,
Bitcoin's more than Ethereum.
Yeah, but this matters because
board apes for a long time have
been the top or second under
Talking two different chains.
Yeah, but it's still real value.
Like the way that you compare the
value across all these chains is in
Are we speaking dollars as opposed
You know, I guess we are.
One ETH does not equal one Bitcoin.
So you have to find an easily
Everybody understands how to talk
about the value of these things.
But like people still care about
dollars at the end of the day.
You know, unfortunately, I know.
But like, unfortunately, dollars still
And that's still what we use over
Well, and so and when you're looking
at dollar value, it is significant
to have the top, you know, the top
NFT is shaking up, you know, to be
So, yeah, I mean, of course, the
dynamics of the different ecosystems
that they're on, they're in plays a
But in terms of how people are
valuing these things and how they're
moving their liquidity around and
thinking about, you know, a lot of
I think a lot of people have been
selling apes to get into nodes.
And I think I that's part of it.
I think that a lot of that's been
So anyway, ordinals start to fly
I think this is going to be a big
We will see none of this is
I think I said that enough.
That's that is what it is.
Again, speaking of ordinals, only
force the fallen coming soon.
Very excited about that one.
I think it's going to be one of the
highest quality art PFPs on
And we know that that's a legit
As an only force Ronan, I'm very
excited for that project.
And then, yeah, cake, cake
Nygaard launching Little Puppets.
So that's a couple of things,
a couple of things that I know is
Any other last things that y'all
The cake one is at point zero zero
It's relatively affordable.
He's keeping it relatively
I thought that was a really nice
change from seeing point three.
You know, it's just thousands of
Any anything else you want to throw
Jessica's having a room on Thursday
She has one every Thursday night
We talk about some pretty crazy
It's not recorded, thankfully.
Some things should not be recorded.
And I will be giving away a choosie.
Coming to Cali next week,
if I'm going to hit you up, G.
Y'all, I hope you have an amazing
We're going out with a song called
Aftertaste by Loud Luxury and
I'm going to refer to Roger
Dickerman's tweet about memes,
where he concludes that everybody
It's not art or memes, y'all.
We'll be back tomorrow morning
but you're the one I want.
Crazy that I won't give up on you.
They're still hunting me.
crazy that I won't give up on you.
but you're the one I want.
Crazy that I won't give up on you.
