And I'm so perfect, and I'll come over it now.
I hope to be me, and I'm not allowed.
And I'm so better, and I'm so fucking dumb.

i'm doing great man it's a beautiful day where i am uh i'm feeling really really good actually
surprisingly not often but i am how about you times yeah no i'm i'm feeling good um
yeah have you have you um have you seen this monad cards thing? I just, I've just, I don't know. Have you, have you seen it at all in the timeline?
No, I haven't seen it a huge amount. I've heard a couple of people talking about it in the community. Uh, they were like, oh, I'm so happy that everyone else got this and we didn't. Um, they were stoked off that. Um, but no, I haven't really seen it that much.
but no I haven't really seen it that much
it's going to be like
years from now people will be like
man Toons really fell off
but like remember that Monad cards thing
that was so sick
but besides that
it's going to be like when you have those conversations with people
and you have to give the context
and you're going to be like oh do you remember when
Monad did Monad cards and people are going to be like, do you remember when Monad did Monad cards? And people are going to be like, no.
And you're like, yeah, well, no.
I mean, it was pretty popular at the time.
You were roasting out.
It was like two days in
and you were already roasting out for it.
Wait, where's that image?
Can you find it?
I just love going as contrarian as possible
as early as possible it's a very funny bit can you find it and pin it in the space um
yeah you've been tweeting a lot dude i'm dude so i'm feeling my like i i got my uh my swagger back kind of oh yeah i used to be i have a good flow
state for tweeting and then i kind of lost it and it's back so how do you reckon you found that
um probably just like my confidence is higher. Yeah.
That's so good when you get to lock into a flow state.
Yeah. It's very hard.
It was my,
my engagement is through the roof now,
which is great too.
It's like,
it's like almost back to like to the doge days. Like it's actually, it's great too. It's like almost back to the Doge days.
It's actually sick.
I love it. It's a lot of fun.
But you don't have a random
low-cap gem
to push out to the masses.
That's the issue.
I need to start shilling shitcoins now.
I need to accidentally drop a coin from my account.
She's like,
I didn't mean to create this coin and bundle it and tweet the contract
address out and then sell it all on one clip five minutes after I tweeted.
How did that happen?
And then just be like,
like delete all the tweets,
be like, sorry, I got hacked.
And then just drop a banger
and everyone forgets and moves on.
When was this post?
Yeah, I don't...
Actually, the best way to do it
is to go to...
I'll find it.
No, I'll do my own replies.
No, you got to go to your media page it. No, I'll do my own replies. No, you
gotta go to your media page.
Smart, smart, smart,
Yeah. Wait, yeah, so this
Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
It's in there. He used it
twice. Yeah. Yeah, well, it was
just so good. The meme's so good.
The first one was. The meme's so good. The first one was. The first one got me.
Wait, so also,
Nico is here.
So, Uniswap did Uniswap cards,
so we're going to get Nico up here,
and then we're going to all vibe and just talk about cards.
You know what I mean? There we go.'s up nico are you there yeah what's going on let's go dude our fellow card connoisseur
how you doing i'm good i'm good excited to be here i feel like this is like long overdue yeah
yeah for sure for sure we tried tried to get it going then you're
on vacation just trying to escape the timeline for a second and we we sucked i know you guys
couldn't give me any peace dude you guys just went ahead and did monad cards and just fucking
took over well we loved we planned it during your vacation so that hopefully you wouldn't see it i figured i figured it felt like
it's so funny because we like we both made it in the window of cards being cool
and now like you just know there's gonna be other like cards and people are gonna be like
oh this is i'm so fucking sick and tired of these fucking cards can't you guys just be original but like i feel
like we we snuck in the window yeah i know we it's feeling a little toppy these days i will say
but i feel like yeah yeah i was gonna say honestly we can probably get into it later too but like
i feel like cards will always be interesting so long as how you use them as a medium is, like, interesting.
Does that make sense?
Like, what you all are doing is actually really interesting.
But if someone's just fucking, like, oh, here's, like, 10,000 cards and then that's it.
Like, I feel like we're past that at this point.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, yeah, for sure.
They have to feel scarce, right?
Or they have to special in some way.
Wait, okay, so I know that...
I know that...
Okay, I want to tell just the timestamp of the Monad cards idea.
Just to give you the context, Nico.
Because I know that you're definitely just like,
you're dying to know like,
like when did we have the idea for it?
Did we just coffee you?
so I sent bill a DM on,
let's see.
We're in June right now. We're in June. We're in June right now.
We're in June.
We're in June.
I'm at June 11th right now.
Keep going.
Every day.
There's just an idea that goes on.
We're in May, May 29th.
May 29th, May 20th.
May 29th. So May 29th, I DMed, May 20th, May 29th.
So May 29th,
I DM Bill,
I have an idea.
And then it all spot and then it all spiraled.
But what I will say is that like,
so just to tell the story of it,
like the amount of people who are involved with making this happen was
probably like 15 plus because it's like people on like
the growth side just kind of like coming up with like the tweets the copy the the names the naming
like the roles the descriptions you know the design team for making the website look good
making the cards um like engineering for like making it so that you know you
you know they the whole the whole thing functions properly and then you know
other people helping with like just logistics scoping the process of like
selecting who's eligible so all this stuff right and so the point I'm trying
to make is very much just like
as you get more people involved the more pushback you get and so it becomes an uphill battle when
you want to like do things that basically spend many different people's time and i do remember
like it was an uphill battle to get to the point of like this is definitely happening
like it was an uphill battle to get to the point of like this is definitely happening
and both like in the in the uphill battle you guys dropped cards and everyone loved it and then that
was a great like see like this will work like this is a good idea like they're basically like
they just uniswap just gave people cards and everyone loves them and then like people who
are like a little bit um a little bit more hesitant were kind of like, okay, yeah,
I guess you're right.
And so the point I'm trying
to make is we didn't
copy you, but
potentially if you guys don't do
Uniswap cards, Monad cards never happens.
Wait, May 29th, I have a DM
from you that said, this Uniswap
shit is cool, we should rip
this LMFAO.
No, no, no.
Theirs was in July, I think, right?
I don't know, Nico, but that's all.
It's the same.
It's like, if you're sitting there and you're like,
if we didn't do cards, they wouldn't have done cards.
It's maybe true, not for the reason you think,
but it actually, it is kind of true.
So thank you.
Thank you. No, that's high praise um so yeah we we did uniswap cards i think it was like it was during
permissionless so i think it was like probably like mid-june and similar like tunes i feel like
we probably in some sense have like similar roles where we're maybe like the ideas guys
and we're just like let's do this and obviously it takes a while for it to come to fruition but I never for I actually never actually
thought you guys copied Uniswap cards also I don't like that language to be honest like and I know
some people said it but I never agreed with it and I think like whenever we did Uniswap cards
we ran into some things that you all did as well like just
people being like you know like uh uniswap did this but so and so did this and like realistically
you could go back 15 different projects over the course of you know for kobe replied to i remember
i had a post and i was just like you know hundreds of crypto brands have done the trading card thing
it's not original but like that for us and for Monad, I don't think that's the point.
Like all we're doing is we're taking something interesting and adding our personal twist to it.
So like this idea as well of like being original, I think is like such a sigh off.
Like everything is inspired theft and we all feel like artists. And so, yeah, like I never took it that way.
You know, we love Monad over at Uniswap. You know,
Monad is supported on Uniswap. There's a little shameless plug.
But yeah, but yeah, we love the cards and it's all love for sure.
Hell yeah. Awesome.
Very cool.
Yeah, this is, this is, I feel like this is the card mafia now, you know, like whenever
another brand does cards now, you have to get the nod of approval from Monad and Uniswap
if like you did it well enough.
And then if so, you get to join the card mafia.
And then every year there's like a dinner and like all of the everyone from the card mafia gets together and then we all
like bring like physical editions of our cards and we compare them like uh the scene in um
american psycho where they're comparing their business cards and wait we need it
to see we may need to like jam on on like a version of that by the way
yeah yeah yeah wait yeah i'll actually yeah card mafia that it can be like card dow or something
like it's just a group chat and it's just like any brand that does cards it's like y'all i don't
know anyways but yeah this is uh yeah this is like this is just like the thing i'm just always
gonna hold on to and never, like, go.
And then, like, two years from now, people have, like, completely moved on, never want to think or hear about it again.
I'm always just going to be like, hey, do you guys remember Monon Cards?
But, yeah, anyways.
Yeah, how are you doing, Nico?
How was your vacation?
Was it good? it was so good uh
yeah like tldr like my uh my family they all like live in greece and so my wife and i we just went
over there for like a couple weeks and just soaked up the sun but i mean you just can't stay away
from ct like i felt like i was still on my phone all the
time especially when monad cards drops as we just said um but uh yeah it was it was a good good
restful trip also tunes i love the the tweet you had earlier today where you were like it took three
months to build monad cards now we can focus on building the chain or something like that yeah three years yeah because
it's a pretty yeah because it's just like mom it's been around for so long what have you shipped
right it's like oh well we did the card thing right yeah the thing i do appreciate about you
all is like how much you lean into the like the memetics of it it just kind of slides right off
and you can actually kind of like use it as an opportunity
to make people laugh which i personally really enjoy yeah that was uh that's actually yeah bill
you can hop in but that was yeah like i i hadn't really thought much about like if if you get a
card most of them are kind of insulting, like, very subtly.
And that was a big Bill thing.
Bro, I got called Unk.
That was crazy, Bill.
I think the new round is, like, legitimately old head, which is, like, even more of a
But, yeah, I don't know.
I think people, you don't want to be obsequious.
You don't want to be, like, you're the man. You've got to be kind of, like, you're cool, but, you don't want to be obsequious. You don't want to be like, you're the man.
You've got to be kind of like, you're cool, but keep it real a little bit.
But I think you have to have, especially in crypto Twitter,
you have to laugh at stuff, especially for us.
If we're doing three years of pre-mainnet stuff,
you can't just be serious about it at this point.
You have to be kind of a little bit, having a little bit of fun.
Totally. And in some sense too it's like the quality of the copy on the cards was like pretty controlled which was good because like for us we had like um essentially like when you
connected your twitter like chat gpt would scan like your last like five tweets and then come up
with like a description for you and some of them were like amazing but then some of them were like what the fuck is does this even
mean so like it's a it's a tricky balance i would say between like personalization and using the
tools at hand but i don't mind being called unk it was funny yeah i don't i don't know if most
people who got a card know this but like every single person that was eligible for a card,
we looked at your profile and we assigned you a role.
And that was one of the most time-consuming parts of this as well.
So I hope that you feel like the role you got was actually relevant to you
or whatever, Nico.
Because that was the intent, was's you know just more personalization yeah 100 definitely definitely so okay so let's
bring me up to speed on the timeline so obviously like the first wave happened when i was in greece
i found out because uh was it kian had a crazy long thread tagging literally everybody that got a
card if i'm remembering correctly yep and then which was very memorable um what a good guy uh
and then the second wave just happened correct and that was based off the nominations that people
had in wave one right yep yep so how many new cards were generated based off of the nominations?
A little more than 4,000.
Very cool. Yeah. So total supply of cards is just under 10,000, but total claims for cards is just over five or 6,000, I think like 6,000
about probably.
So pretty low supply, pretty scarce supply.
Um, yeah, yeah yeah yeah um did bill did you do like um
like i guess like the design like the filters or parameters for like how the art would be generated
no that was all the design team they um yeah Yeah. Austin, Wirt, and Nishi, they're really onto it.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Just to Niko.
So another thing that I think people aren't clear about is like,
it was a prompt, right, the same way that you guys did, I assume.
a prompt right the same way that you guys did i assume um but it was also a manual thing where
all the cards were pre-generated and then all of the they were all got like
every single one was looked at and kind of given a thumbs up or a thumbs down and then every
thumbs down would be like a process of going back and forth to reprompt.
Yeah, and getting out of the foot that looks good.
Are you crazy?
That's insane.
That's insane.
Well, yeah, hats off to you all.
Yeah, I don't think I would have been able to do that.
that um we like when we did our cards like i think the first day there was like and also very
different so like the numbers are not really comparable because it was like anyone could
come get one as opposed to like the the scarcity route um it was like maybe like 15 20 000 and then
we left it open it was like three days second day got up to like maybe 40 50. And then we left it open. It was like three days. Second day, it got up to like maybe 40,
50,000. And then we like told everyone there would be a cutoff just because the chat GBT bill was
starting to add up. And so, but by that, when we said that it actually jumped from like 40,
50,000 generated cards all the way up to like 190 000 which also you can attribute a lot which
is insane but like you can attribute a lot of that to just people being like you know like oh
there's a cutoff like you know maybe there's something to this afterwards let me get one
whatever etc etc fomo um but when we did some filtering it was like accounts with like at least two 250 followers
accounted for like 70 000 of the generations so whenever like i talk to people about like
you know how many people got their cards i like to use that number because it's like oh these are
like genuine people online that went ahead and got the cards. So, but yeah, all that to say, different routes.
I think we went more of like the abundance mindset, but also like we treated it more
like a moment rather than like a continued activation.
If that makes sense.
How quick did you guys go from idea to launch?
Yeah, that's a good question.
So, I mean, I pushed really hard.
Like, I remember it was, like, probably, it was, like, three months before permission lists, probably.
Like, it was a bit of a process, because I don't know if you remember this but actually like before we did the digital cards we did these the digital cards were actually
just like part two like the way this started was we did these physical cards specifically for the
event at uniswap house and so like that was like we did these and i can send you a dm but it was
essentially like these packs that we had and you could only get them at the Uniswap house. And so we had like 500 packs and they all got taken away. Um, but
basically what ended up happening was like, you know, these, these cards are sick, but like,
there was no way for anyone to access them from, you know, from social, from, you know,
while being on NCT. And so we basically created this, you know,
the digital cards. So the physical cards took a while because we had to work with like a vendor
to, you know, to make the cards. And then I had to basically, you know, like on the art side as
well. But as far as like, whenever we did the digital site, that actually took like only like
probably 24 hours to go from physical to digital.
And a lot of that was just attributed to how cracked some of the people on our team are.
Like, I don't know if you know, Ty and Brian, they joined Uniswap through like the Crypt of the Game acquisition, but they're super gifted.
And so they made that happen basically in like 24 hours.
Nice. Nice. Very cool. gifted and so they made that happen basically in like 24 hours nice nice very cool yeah the
physical cards are sweet we have some in the office because i know you guys made them for
keone and intern yeah yeah yeah for sure use his tweet is killing me
yeah yeah that's also funny nico because um you know we have a pretty loyal community
of people who are crazy obsessed with monad and we just specifically did not give any of them cards
so it's just like the just ultimate sidelined um so like everyone listening right now is just like, yeah,
super happy cards is great, but like I didn't,
it'd be way better if we had gotten one, you know?
So just makes it funny.
Card mafia.
Who's next?
Someone's someone,
you know that there are just teams that are like, all right,
we got to do cards.
Like I, I'm surprised we haven't seen it yet.
I wonder, like, have you considered how much,
you know, how kind of the,
and while metas kind of shift within, like,
you know, just a few hours here,
like, do you think how much of the current, like,
card meta could be attributed to just, like,
how much people have been experimenting with cards
on like the brand side over the last few months i'm kind of curious about that i think roughly
100 of the current card meta is derived from us or the from the card mafia yeah
we started the wave this whole tcg collectibles thing wouldn't have happened without my own Uniswap.
I love it.
What's y'all's take on that, by the way?
Just the current meta of TCG.
You think it's here to stay or do you think everyone's just bored?
I think it's here to stay.
It's funny because there's been some people, shout out young peso,
who's been DMing about buying Pokemon cards for a long,
long time.
Like this whole year,
there's a whole bunch of like tailwinds and they think that there's going to be a new,
like the IP is changing.
Some cards are going to get rare at all that,
but it's hard to get access to it.
And so these,
these crypto platforms that allow you to kind of buy packs and things are really cool.
But I don't really know about the skins, the CSGO skins and the other collectibles.
I'm mostly not about the Pokemon cards.
Yeah, for sure.
For sure. I feel like the way I view it is like, I definitely agree that it's here to stay. I think like what we've seen in crypto is the best use cases typically derive from taking highly liquid markets that are very inefficient and then making those liquid markets efficient.
I feel like the way I view it is I definitely agree that it's here to stay.
markets. It's very similar, like highly liquid, but not very efficient. Then Polymarket came in.
And I think the same could be said, or we're starting to see the same with TCG, right? Like
eBay takes insane fees off sales. And there's like a lot of other, there's a lot of other like
yellow tape around like transacting on eBay as well. And then you can use like a service like courtyard or collector crypt or
BZ or fissures. I'm sure I'm missing like 10 more.
There's so many now. Um, and the experience is like much more seamless.
So I am, I don't know if like they're all going to win,
but I do think there are a couple that are going to win. Um,
another one is ripped out fun. Um, but I do think like it is going to win. Another one is Ripped Out Fun.
But I do think it is here to stay. I do think probably some of the extreme excitement will probably go away,
but I do think it's a proof of concept.
I like the idea of not having to custody physical goods like RWAs
because that's always the headache.
If you buy pokemon
cards then it's getting them shipped to where you are keeping them safe and then like shipping them
out to the next person when you sell them so the velocity of trades can like really increase if you
don't have to custody and you've got like some third party that's custodying from them for you
they can show you like the condition of the card that kind of thing because that's what like the
rich guys do with art like they don't a lot of times they buy art and then just keep it in some like Swiss bunker or whatever.
They don't actually like custody it themselves because it's just a risk.
Like on Courtyard, all the cards are vaulted at Brinks, which is amazing because I have some cards on there.
But like I'm looking at my office right now and I have like this corner just dedicated to a bunch of sealed Pokemon.
And it's starting to look a little autistic so um i think it's great that there are platforms that allow you just to to vault your stuff there as opposed to just having it just take up a bunch
of space yeah because there's definitely there's definitely great opportunity for just like
massive fraud here like i feel like someone
could just launch a platform and be like oh yeah come rip your rare pokemon cards it's totally
real and backed one-to-one i promise and then like you just basically tilt the odds even more
in people's favor and they're just winning and you have this whole market built and and then
someone's like all right let me redeem my card and then they realize there were there was there was no backing
of any of the cards and it just all blows up and goes to zero i feel i mean there's obviously
someone's gonna do something like that especially if like i don't know we need a prediction market on who's like the SPF of TCGRWA.
Right. That's literally the subprime housing
crisis. Like they just had
representations of houses that weren't real
and then that's how everything failed. So it's
bound to happen again. We need to rerun
that. I mean, crypto's going to rerun everything that
the TradFi has done, basically.
Yeah. No, Nicoico you make a really good point of like crypt the best the breakout apps are always like tapping into illiquid markets basically
like yeah inefficient markets yeah yeah for sure yeah. I mean, it's also like on the prediction market side too.
I think what's so cool about that is like, I feel like, you know, crypto native apps like Polymarket were kind of like first.
And then now you see like the downstream effects of that, right?
Like traditional apps like Robinhood now are trying to experiment with prediction markets.
And so, I mean, then also, I mean, Calci also essentially was created to mimic Polymarket,
but you know, it's off chain, it's not on chain, like Polymarket is.
So I like to say, yeah, I feel like, you know, as time goes on, I think one of the most exciting things about working in crypto is like seeing all these breakout apps like actually break into like mainstream consciousness.
Like there are everyday people that do know what Polymarket is, which is really interesting.
yeah yeah for sure um there's also an element i think of of like
Yeah, for sure.
this is gonna get too philosophical or stupid but i'm just gonna say it like
i can't remember who was talking when they were describing the early days of the internet it
might have been this might have been from chris dixon's book um his
crypto book do you know what i'm talking about it was um right yeah read right own and he talks
about how when new mediums are created people try to build things on them that look like that aren't designed for
the new medium, but are just like the old medium. And so an example of this is like in the early
internet, people were basically taking magazines, and then just kind of like putting them on the
internet. So like you would go on the internet, and you would basically just be looking at a
digital magazine, because people hadn't thought about the concept of like, Oh, like a website, you know,
they're just kind of like, well,
this is the way that people look at things that are on a page.
And so I'm just going to take the page and put it on the screen and that's
perfect. But then it's not really like optimized for the new medium,
but it just takes a while for, you people to be creative um and things to be
intuitive about the medium do you know what i'm saying bill or nico yeah 100 100 yeah
and something that i find interesting is with casinos um like most of the casino games online are basically just taking casino games from real
life and then just putting them on the internet you know you play poker you play slots you play
blackjack um but i think there's a lot of room for basically just creating net new casino games
that are just completely internet native and almost wouldn't even work in real life.
And it's kind of my point being is like when you're playing these Pokemon card
games, it's, it's basically just a casino game, right?
But it's just, you're just skinning it up into something else.
Like the gotcha claw.
Yeah. You're just, you're just adding a layer on into something else like the gotcha claw yeah you're just you're just
adding a layer on to make it more fun and engaging but ultimately what it is it's a casino game
like it's you're just gambling when you open these card packs and so my point being is i think this
is one of the beauties of crypto is that you can basically take a pretty simple casino game but then you can just re-skin
it in a way that's more engaging and fun and it can just basically be like this like better
experience that couldn't exist without um without crypto and to me that that's, I don't know, I kind of place these card pack openings in that category
where there are elements of opening these card packs online that you can do that you
can't do offline, basically.
Like being able to open the thing and then click a button and auto sell it into liquidity
sell it into liquidity and then take those funds to buy more packs like you like you i mean i guess
and then take those funds to buy more packs.
you can do it in real life but it's not as efficient and i think there's just a lot of room
for um experimentation with new forms of gambling
dude if apple sold the next iphone and one in a thousand
iphones had like a holographic back or something
dude they would they would sell like probably 20 more iphones that year
what what you're uh touching on though too like i a buddy of mine uh loris he did this like
article on kind of like the hyper gamification of society
and kind of where that goes for better or for worse. And but like, I remember,
someone like, had replied to it with like a photo of like, an Apple bill. And it was like,
you know, pay. It's like pay double or nothing on your Apple bill. It's like pay $300 or zero.
And so, I don't know, just like kind of hitting on,
it sounds a bit dystopian,
but all that to say, it's like people do love to gamble.
People do love to take their chances.
And so you can't look at that
and like not think that it would be very successful.
But all that to say,
I do agree with the underlying point you make
of how crypto does have this kind of unique advantage
to improve existing ways for how people make money.
And I do think that's our edge, right?
It would be cool if... I don't know how many people here have a spotify subscription
but if we could all like pool our money together almost and then like one person just has to pay
for everyone's subscription every month you know something like that would be crazy i think it's
just the productization of it has to limit the downside because I think people have a massive loss aversion.
And so they only want to gamble and then win or not.
But you can't have a gamble where you suddenly lose big time
because then no one's going to do it because everyone's like,
well, I don't want to do this ever again kind of thing.
Have you never done card roulette at a dinner?
Yes, but I don't think that people – like that's –
I think that there's too much downside there for the average person.
That's a pretty risk, a pro-risk thing that people would do.
The average person is going to have a lot more loss aversion.
They're going to be like, well, no, I can't manage that.
Yeah, true, true.
Yeah, Nico, so what are we uh what are we gonna found together i feel like we could be good co-founders of something like we
should just we should just you know like okay let's let's get them let's get them on ad you
know swap thing going let's get i thought we were doing card mafia dude i thought it was me you and
bill what's going on here all right yeah wait we got to create card.fun. Card.fun, oh gosh. Any other .fun? Here we go.
Well, so it's like, why?
The Pokemon IP is what makes the game valuable.
But it's limited in that you can only create as many packs as you can physically produce.
So the solution to this is to just have the entire thing be digital.
I actually wouldn't be surprised.
This is what Pokemon needs to do, but it honestly only works on a blockchain.
They need to say, okay, we're just going to issue cards digitally on the blockchain.
And then it saves them manufacturing costs.
I feel like in theory the that makes total sense but i'll tell you what i'm i'm staring at my psa 10 charizard right now
like on my office desk and i love it you know what i mean at the same time i feel like too
like another thing that we learned from 2021 is like people do love the balance between digital
and physical um right like they don't want to lose the effic balance between digital and physical.
Like they don't want to lose the efficiencies of digital and be purely – Wait, wait, wait.
Wait, wait.
How much is your Charizard worth?
It's just on your desk?
Are you in the office or are you at home?
Yeah, I'm at home.
I'm not at the office.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Wait, damn.
So you just – is that worth like $100,000?
No, this is from obsidian flames it's like worth uh i think it's like 800 900 dollars right now
oh okay yeah yeah chill chill chill bro that's funny um but yeah i'll like to say like
i i don't think they'll ever do that because i do think there is like a
a genuine fondness for physical uh collectibles
at the same time you know what i mean uh right right right right if if not if not pokemon just
someone will do it yeah dude something i was thinking about um yesterday was like, also like last cycle, I felt like all CT was trying to do, which makes total sense, was to spin up like highly, you know, viral, powerful IP, like Web3 or crypto native like IP.
Can't believe I almost just said Web3.
That's crazy.
Crypto native IP, like through, you know, like 10k PFP collections or whatever
and this cycle
it's been more about like okay
like it's really hard to create
like valuable IP
so why don't we instead
just bring existing
valuable IP that isn't on chain
you know on chain now right
and like that's where we're starting to see things like
collector crypt and courtyard etc etc so i kind of wonder if like that's also helped
you know digital collectibles like kind of hit escape velocity again but kind of curious what
your take is on that bill anything yeah it's the base 16z tweet that we've found something even
more unsexy to do rather than crypto it's like i think it's self-limiting because it's the base 16z tweet that we've found something even more unsexy to
do rather than crypto it's like i think it's self-limiting because it's like there's only
you can't i just don't know if you can be a csgo skin influencer like it's just
cards it's very unsexy as my fellas yeah i would agree i'd agree i mean the hope i mean the hope is that you know i mean and i would
say like there were some breakout winners right like pudgy penguins obviously has some significantly
valuable ip um but it's pretty few and far between i think the hope is like over time like obviously
there is like more crypto native ip that's created here as opposed to elsewhere um but honestly sometimes the stuff that isn't sexy
is what um is what just works and becomes popular like i swear i've never heard people talk more
about stable coins this year than ever before it melts my brain and don't get me wrong i i love
stable coins and they make on-chain markets more efficient i totally get it they're really
important to defy but it is probably like the least sexy topic you could chat about.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, I think that's the VCs turning on the microwave, I think.
I don't think that that's an organic, user-driven thing, isn't it?
I will say, though, when you meet someone
and you tell them you work in stablecoins,
they have a level of respect for you.
But if you meet someone and you tell them you work in crypto,
they view you with disgust.
And so I'm a fan of the stablecoin meta.
I try to lean in.
You tell people you work in Fentic.
I literally say I work in stablecoins.
And then they go, oh.
Can I have something?
They go, oh, like crypto?
And I go, yeah, it's like dollars on the blockchain.
And then I say it's actually good because it helps expand the dominance around the world. And then they're like, right dollar, like the dominance around the world.
And then they're like,
right on brother.
You know what I mean?
so it's just like way better when I'm like,
I mean like Bitcoin and stuff.
And they're like,
the FTX scam where people like,
where you just have your money stolen.
literally I just tell people now that I work in stable coins and I'm a big fan
What's next for Monad cards?
Is there a third wave?
It's up to Bill,
but probably not.
I asked Bill.
I don't know.
So we've got
a media schedule where we've planned
about 6 more weeks of talking about
this last wave
we're just going to do a lot of that
pretty consistently and then
we'll just see where we're at after that and if
people are still screaming at us to
stop talking about it then we'll
do the wave 3
yeah I think it's kind of a matter of like
is monad now a cards project or a blockchain you know so we kind of need to make that decision
here over the next few weeks um yeah and nico i mean you know you're card mafia so you know
who knows makes total sense sense. Makes total sense.
Do you want to plug or shell Uniswap in any way?
You know where to find us.
It is what it is.
At Uniswap.
Do all things Monad there.
We love Monad.
But I actually do need to hop into it at 1pm.
But this has been a joy and a privilege to be with you all.
And we should definitely do this again.
Last thing.
How does it feel that of all the on-chain protocols,
you guys have this for past 24 hours,
you're number two in fees paid,
but number one is pump fun.
How does that, because it's like,
it's like in the totality of the industry,
it's like, wow, massive success, dominate.
But then it's like, oh, launching meme coins
is maybe it has more, is, you know, the market doesn't lie.
So I'm just, what's your take on that?
Yeah, I mean, dang, you're making me put my Uniswap hat on right now.
I mean, I think, oddly enough, something that everyone feels at Uniswap is we want to see on-chain companies be successful.
And so, I think, hat off to Al and and pump on i think they're they're
doing something really interesting um i mean i know a lot i know he gets a lot of flack but i'm
actually genuinely a fan um me too yeah for sure um so i mean yeah i think i think also like those
things change every day and you know the one, the one thing, the one thing I will say is like at Uniswap,
we're like really committed to just building and improving our products.
And, you know, so we'll just, we'll just see.
But shout out to PumpFun. They're doing something right over there.
Yeah. Let's see. So August of 2025 2025 was your that was uniswap's third
highest month by fees so keep we'll keep an eye on that you know maybe we'll check in when you
hit an all-time high can you hit an all-time high like come on let's let's be serious here come on
nico all right let's see what i can do. All right. Okay, I appreciate you. All right, cheers.
Appreciate it.
Later, man.
Just a humble little project.
Really crushing it.
Nico's goaded.
Nico's goaded.
That would be – that's like poach material.
All right, should we open it up and talk to people the people have opinions
the people have deep opinions that they want
to get out there
the combo is just gonna
the quality is about to drop significantly
it's about to be Greek accents
it's about to be stories about
South Africa
I mean we have KB like oh no It's about to be Greek accents. It's about to be stories about South Africa.
Oh, here we go.
I mean, we have KB.
Like, oh, no.
Yeah, the floor is yours to our lovely speakers. Well, all right. I guess that's
that's it for the week maybe we can just do
the outro music now since everyone's
a little stage shy
I have two things to say I mean, chaos. Yes, yes, chaos. Hi.
I have two things to say to, like, chill after this beautiful one hour of card talking.
One is that I'm proud that you actually like a Greek person like Nico.
I didn't expect that.
And second is that have you considered making a live stare down card fight yuki kaiba type c with him see like my beef is not with i don't have beef with anyone but like when i can't
understand what someone's saying it just it pisses me off so i understood the first half
of what you
said chaos but the second half i didn't and now i'm just mad like you're a yugi he's kaiba make a
stir down card fight with your collection you know i see yeah i like, what's the question?
Have you considered that?
Have I considered what exactly?
Make a stare down with Nico.
Have I considered doing a stare down with Nico?
Yeah, with your cards.
It's one with his deck.
want us to print out physical
cards and then meet up and then
hold the cards in our hands
and stare at each other?
Yeah, this would actually be a banger.
It's pretty simple
terms. Basically, it's
if you consider
like what are we doing here oh my god we had such a
good conversation with nico and then we're just talking about bullshit god yeah all right kb what
do you have please yeah that was pretty bad chaos um almost as bad as you shilling mana to nini um at the greece like rave before the meetup
have you heard the story tunes no okay so this is like the day before like everybody meets at greece
and there's like a little like pre-meetup at like some club and so like nina and i are like hanging
out like by the bathrooms like waiting wait nina nini nini oh sailor nini so we're like hanging out like by the bathrooms like waiting wait Nina Nini Nini oh Sailor Nini
so we're like hanging out with like all the girls and so like some of the girls in the bathroom
we're like waiting and I had already met chaos and so chaos and chaos comes up to me and he's like
hey and it's like me and Nini he goes up to Nini he's like are you nad? Not knowing like who Nini is. And so I look at Nini and I'm like, he has no idea. And she just is like grinning. And she's like, and I go, oh, no, and she is she a nad? And I'm like, oh, no, she's not. Oh, that's your friend. I'm like, yeah, yeah, she's not a nad. Why don't you onboard her to like monad and he's like okay okay he's like so monad is a place of retards and we got kb
to fly from florida and she hated it and we're all here just being like retarded i'm like what
is he even talking about and he's like my name is chaos Chaos Walker. And it was the most, we're just like, what are you talking about?
And Nini's like, did your parents name you Chaos?
Like, your parents named you Chaos?
And he's like, oh, no.
Well, like, my name is so-and-so.
And it was the worst show, like, in the history of shows.
Didn't even say that it was crypto.
Didn't even say it was a blockchain.
But, yeah, yeah no that's
chaos so this is pretty much on brand um i'm good how are you tunes uh kudos on the cards i love
them just waiting um for our community cards because i know that there's no way you
would do all of this and not give yourself a holographic cards toons wave three is just Toons Wave. We all know Toons is going to get a holographic
Toons card, okay?
Like, we're... I know these tricks.
Wave 3 is team.
No, Wave 3 is... Wave 3 is, like,
Wave 3 is Paradigm.
It's a valued VCs and a Vistas.
Like Paradigm and Saquon barkley um all right i can honestly completely forget anything you just said kb but appreciate you
um all right we have diego if you have anything to say. Hey, what's up, dude? How you doing?
Good, how are you?
I'm doing great, dude. Sunny Costa Rica today.
Dude, I love the cards, actually. They're pretty good.
Oh, you heard about them? Let's go.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. What did you... Yeah, I mean, feel free to... Let's talk about them.
Dude, no, so if any of you guys go into Korea I think it would be
like a pretty sick thing oh funny enough I was watching YouTube videos last night
hold on who's the guy called it's like it's like Paris unexpected trip to Cuba
what's this guy's name
this is this guy
you guys know Kurt Kaz
yeah he's good
so he's so good.
Like probably the best content creator in the world.
Um, he just goes to these countries.
Like, he's like, I'm going to Cuba, just can go to Cuba.
His, his video last night, he like goes to Paris and he kind of just shows off how different Paris looks now.
And then there's all these, like, people scamming, and he, like, confronts them, and then they, like, throw bottles at him and rocks and stuff like that.
But then I started watching more of his videos, and he was in Cuba, and they drove by, like,
like the North Korean consulate in Cuba,
the North Korean embassy in Cuba.
And then I went down a rabbit hole of where North Korea has embassies in,
and they have embassies in lots of places,
which is very surprising to me.
it's just,
you said the word Korea,
so it kind of triggered me,
anyways, keep carrying on. What important business do you reckon they're doing in the
korean north korean embassy in cuba dude dude i don't know they have one in paris so they have
one in france it's not even marked it look it just looks like a house like you would have no idea
they went in france of mexico germany spain like what are i had no idea i had no clue and that what makes me
want to go you know because then you can kind of get your toes you can get your toes wet without
without you know big risk right like experience the north korean culture but just in right
well even in you go to spain right go to spain and then you go to the embassy and you just walk
in there and you say the fuck's going on in here you know what i mean
you just you just you just face to face you're like i'm ready to square up let's let's do this you know because they can't they
can't banish you to the fields when you're in spain you know what i mean you're safe you're
safe so can you can you imagine how angry your government turns would be if you went to the q
if you went to cuba and then went to the north korean embassy in cuba they'd be like, dude, both of them?
I'd be like, well,
does it cancel each other out?
We left to make a right.
Cubans in the North Korean embassy would be tight, though. That would be pretty
I was hoping
there would be one in the u.s and i
could just go i wonder that's got that's the way out you know you because i was even i was thinking
this was like my first thought when i was when i you know i was looking up these embassies i was
like oh that's how you get out you just climb the ranks and you say, Hey, like, I'm really just trying to be at the, at the embassy in Mexico.
You know what I mean? Like you just, you just tell big man, right.
You say, look, like we kind of got us, we got to start spreading out.
Boss man, we got to break out of the echo bubble.
We got to go to Mexicoxico and then you go there and i was thinking about it i feel like you could just walk off you know like if the mex if if you were a north korean uh official and you're at the
embassy in mexico and you just said to the mexican government like look like i'm not going back there i feel like they would just say okay and they would just be like yeah you can
be a citizen now you know because just imagine that because then they're just banishing you
to the shadow realm you know yeah well they're just doing it despite like north korea at that
point oh that would then probably mess up their diplomatic relations.
I mean, what diplomatic... Didn't they send Dennis Rodman over there?
Like, what diplomatic relations do they even have?
Does anyone have with that country?
Oh, Dennis Rodman is the US.
That's not Mexico.
Senor Rodman.
I don't know.
Like, who is the guy that they sent from Mexico?
I have no idea.
I'm not aware of the Mexicanican north korean lore uh nathan
but that is that is i guess if i if i before this conversation i asked you how many countries do
you think north korea has an embassy in i think my answer would have been under 10 and it's like 40
like 40 40 to 50 which is surprising but anyways yeah diego back to your story
no no i was just asking if you guys were going there because yeah
korea blockchain week and shit yeah dude honestly like i just
every time someone asks me if i'm going to a conference or i want to go to a conference it's
i i like wince like oh like like, oh, like, no.
Dude, we had a great time in Thailand.
What are you talking about?
It was great.
No, but I'm not talking about a meetup.
I'm talking about like going to a conference.
Like it's.
I mean, like.
It's a different thing.
Last year in Thailand was like that.
Like, well, I don't know.
No, meetup is great.
But just when some, when someone just when someone sends me the message,
hey, are you going to KBW?
I have a visceral reaction of like, oh, it's just so normal to you.
I don't want to go.
I do not want to go to this conference.
I don't want to go to any conference.
I want to just – Twitter is my conference, you know? go to any conference. I want to just Twitter is my conference,
that's the conference.
There was a quote from someone that was like networking is fake.
It's just like,
do stuff that makes people want to reach out to you or whatever.
Lumi Tara retweeted the space.
Is it recorded?
Yeah, it is.
Have we mentioned them at all?
Welcome, Lumiterra.
Oh, my God.
Yeah, no, I just, there's, yeah, there's good tweets about conference like at the at the
conference in it's like i'm at token but i'm just with all the people it's people who live in new
york and all these people they never get together when they're in new york and they all just go
jump around these conferences and hang out when they're at the conferences
and it's like why don't we just spend time together in New York where we all live and
some having to travel to these random places.
Shout out that buck on Twitter tweet where he's like,
I just saw that you live in New York.
Do you want to grab coffee in Thailand?
You should,
someone should be the Kirk cares of conferences though.
And just like wear a GoPro on their head and be like,
look at this, look at this.
Look at these scammers.
Oh my God.
I love that guy.
I love that guy.
I feel like it's like, I don't know, just being a good dude simulator where you go around and you're like, yeah, I would have shouted at those scammers too.
And like, yeah, I would have chatted up there.
He's just, he's, yeah, his videos are very funny.
Yeah, he's great.
He's, he's fantastic.
I can tell that he's very close to Elon kind of being like,
oh, this is the guy, you know?
Yeah, yeah.
Like, it's just, it's right there.
It's about to happen.
Looks like we do have a hand up.
What's going on?
Whoever has their hand up.
Hey, hello, guys.
How's everyone doing?
So happy to hear all you guys' voices. I've been in the request box for the last four or five spaces. I'm not allowed to come up, so been a long time since I've talked to you.
Unfortunately, it hasn't been that long since I've heard your voice.
But it's been a long time since you heard mine, which probably sucks.
I wanted to just do like a little exercise today.
And Bill, I might need your help with this, if that's okay.
So pretty much what I wanted to do is I wanted to just say five nice things about tunes
And I wanted him to say five nice things back to me and if it gets a little bit heated
I'm just gonna need you to be the mediator. You think you can do that?
I'm gonna go first tunes or

Yeah, I can tell.
I'm in my car.
Are you in your car?
Where's that lunchtime?
Your lunch break from the factory?
It wasn't even my lunch break.
I just left because I just wanted to go talk to Toons.
Oh, you're currently gonna get yelled at now
Oh, you're currently on the car?
I'm probably going to get yelled at now.
Now gonna just dock you you might not earn four dollars an hour or what if I don't now whatever
Do they don't even pay me here?

Fuck my foot's been in the door for a long time
And I haven't got it yet
Been there know those ones well just stick at it, you know and
Maybe by the time we launch your foot will be you know you
You get there
Like I've had multiple girls leave me because I can't afford their lifestyle anymore
Like I don't afford their lifestyle anymore.
Like, I don't know what to do.
And I just want advice.
That's a different how we kill a face.
Like, they say I can't afford their lifestyle.
All right.
Well, I guess that's probably it for the spaces.
