Bits, Stocks and Blocks (“BSB”) is Brazil’s largest newsletter about Technology+Investments+Crypto. We have >15k subscribers, growing 5% week over week. Newsletter was founded by Eduardo Vasconcellos, a pioneer Venture Crypto investor in Latin America. The idea is to convert a personal blog into an Education & Media platform focused on Crypto. Think Bankless meets Milk Road, but focused on a Latin audience in local language. we want to transform a newsletter on Substack into a Media & Education company focused on Crypto. For this we want to raise a grant for (i) working capital needs, (ii) invest in content; (iii) invest on a proprietary platform. We plan to monetize trough ads + lead generation + selling courses & research + SaaS subscriptions to some products (e.g. tax calculator for crypto investors) all in Portuguese. Given the depreciated and volatile official fiat currency in Brazil, we believe US$30k should be enough. there are many entrepreneurs and developers in Latin America which have not engaged in crypto because there isn’t enough dense content written in local language. There is a higher hurdle to get involved in blockchains vs other technologies due to a lack of structured courses and those getting delivered in a user-friendly manner. This project solves that. Mitigant: with open rates >45%, we are confident our users will transition well. 2) Monetization might be small during early months. Mitigant: we plan to only launch new courses after doing a research and potentially even pre-buying them. **Differentiation**: We produce high quality content in local language. Most projects are in English, basically re-writing or just copy+paste what they have seen elsewhere. Ours is not like that. We write from scratch, adapted to the local idiosyncrasies of the Latam entrepreneur and develiper. **Financial and legal information:** we are organized in three ways: (i) a local entity in Brazil, equivalent to a LLC; (ii) we are setting up a company in BVI; (iii) Eduardo currently supports the newsletter personally. In terms of financials, we could easily get to $10k MRR just with the current newsletter. We believe to vbe able to quickly get it to $500k ARR on our first year of operations.
