Fish Buffet is a visual representation of all 1326 No Limit Hold'em Poker starting hands as NFTs. I played online poker semi-professionally for 4 years. In summer 2022 I had to go to the hospital for some months. I started creating Fish Buffet NFTs when I was in hospital. In the poker ecosystem we tend to speak from fish (bad players) and shark (good players) who eat up the little fish all the time. Fish Buffet sale went live in October 2022 and was sold out within two days. I quickly realized I shall give these NFTs a use case. And so I did. We currently have our weekly nft-tournament running on Discord. NFTs compete against each other in a 3 v 3 allin-shoutout and players get rewarded in FISH. But in my mind I have a bigger vision for Fish Buffet. There is one thing which makes online poker a negative expectation value event for a lot of players. The rake. Only a small percentage (5-10%) makes profit which would be considerable at least a side income. So where does all the money go? The house. Online poker rake is the highest it has ever been in history, houses increase the rake steadily and remove player rewards from their online poker rooms. There are so many more poker players who are slight winners or winners but simply can't beat the rake. I want to create a web 3 decentralized online poker room running on IOTA, Shimmer and Assembly. With my experience in the online poker streets I know what a good room needs to have to be attractive for both professional and recreational players. But I need help, I need a team at my side who is able to fulfill this vision. I need to let you know the following: Why could IOTA benefit from this? With the creation of a non-plus-ultra online poker room which overtakes the big boys such as PokerStars, GGPoker, PartyPoker, iPoker Network, ... we could attract millions of new users into our ecosystem and introduce them to our feeless and ultra fast transaction network distributed ledger technology with pre-mined limited supply and endless interoperability for any use case and green footprint. Players wouldn't only use the network to play and transact, they would also start storing their wealth on the tangle. The word of IOTA needs to be spread and having the No. 1 online poker room running on IOTA could mean dimensions we yet can't imagine. This requires an immense amount of work, funding and dedication and is no easy task by any means. With Fish Buffet, I want to give wider population the chance to stay profitable playing online poker. How do I want to do that? Well, for now I am a one man army. I am looking for support to create a team to give online poker players the best experience possible and ensure their winnings stay on the table. With IOTA and the Shimmer ecosystem this could be made possible. I want to create a decentralized web 3 online poker room on the IOTA tangle which could disrupt the industry. IOTA& Shimmers feeless structure are perfect for this and I am an IOTA believer since 2017. Online poker has become tougher to beat in the last years as the house increased rake steadily and removed more and more player rewards and bonuses. Only 5-10% of players are winners of an amount which could be at least considered a side income. But there are so many more players who win at the game but simply can't beat the rake. I want to give more poker players around the world the oppurtunity to become profitable online poker players. More money should stay on the table, winners shall win more, slight winners should finally win and losers shouldn't lose as much. These days at a small limit, for example NL10 the rake is up to 14 BB / 100 hands and tournament entry fees exceed the 10%. I played all type of poker formats over the years professionally or semi-professionally. For example in Sit&Gos which are small tournaments (mostly one table) I beat the game at 7% ROI over tens of thousands of tournaments. Considered the rake is 10%, this means the house was winning more from me than myself. This should not be the meta and with your help, we could change that. I am not only looking for funding, I am looking guidance, advisory and connections to build a strong team. With your help we can make Fish Buffet possible.
