These industries have strict regulations around the handling of sensitive data, and traditional methods of storing and processing this data can be quite costly. HE allows data to be processed in an encrypted form without the need to decrypt the data first. HE is quite computationally intensive and cannot be done using CPU in a cost-efficient way. Hardware accelerators can run HE much faster but are hard to deploy at scale and integrate with high level frameworks.
