The Rio Crypto Hub (RCH) is the first web3 educational event focused on on-boarding and networking in Latam. It happens every last week of the month. Since March 2022, the public keeps growing and nowadays it has expanded to more states. Through the past months, RCH had 6 sold out editions and received more than 1.000 people that spent the day learning and co-creating web3 initiatives. Lots of Brazillian partnerships between web3 projects and protocols were born inside the event. Beyond that, RCH has a partnership with a social movement in Rio de Janeiro, called Movimento TTK and every month, with the funds collected on RCH, the team organizes a technology class to children and adults that live in Tavares Bastos favela and give them more infrastructure, for example, new classroom, tables and computers. Our events cost a dollar, or it can even be free with you are part of a web project or a university, it's a non-profitable event, planned buy a community dao. Today it takes place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the next step is to expand to other states in Brazil. On November, 2022, the RCH have expanded to Sao Paulo, Paraná and Santa Catarina, in addition to Rio de Janeiro. As partnerships, RCH already received incentives from several big protocols, for example, Chainlink, Polkadot, Harmony, Polygon and AAVE. Our mission is to onboard people to web3 and increase awareness to the projects, we are the first monthly eduactional event in Latam, and we plan to keep expanding. Bits, Stocks and Blocks (“BSB”) is Brazil’s largest newsletter about Technology+Investments+Crypto. We have >15k subscribers, growing 5% week over week. Newsletter was founded by Eduardo Vasconcellos, a pioneer Venture Crypto investor in Latin America. The idea is to convert a personal blog into an Education & Media platform focused on Crypto. Think Bankless meets Milk Road, but focused on a Latin audience in local language. we want to transform a newsletter on Substack into a Media & Education company focused on Crypto. For this we want to raise a grant for (i) working capital needs, (ii) invest in content; (iii) invest on a proprietary platform. We plan to monetize trough ads + lead generation + selling courses & research + SaaS subscriptions to some products (e.g. tax calculator for crypto investors) all in Portuguese. Given the depreciated and volatile official fiat currency in Brazil, we believe US$30k should be enough. there are many entrepreneurs and developers in Latin America which have not engaged in crypto because there isn’t enough dense content written in local language. There is a higher hurdle to get involved in blockchains vs other technologies due to a lack of structured courses and those getting delivered in a user-friendly manner. This project solves that.
