Project Summary
This project aims to build 6 new classroom blocks in our school in the Oji-River area of Enugu State, Nigeria. Helpers Foundation nursery and primary school is a school established to offer free education to underprivileged children. 18.5 million children are out of school in Nigeria and 10.5 million are girls. Building the classroom blocks will help us to enrol more pupils in school.
Challenge
This is a massive challenge as those kids drop out of school at a young age, making them vulnerable to abuse and forced labour. The fact that one-third of public schools in Nigeria are either dilapidated or poverty is one of the major challenges which causes school children out of school.
The Solution
The key point that can potentially solve the issue is to make education accessible to more out-of-school children is Building classrooms and providing basic school supplies to them.
Long-Term Impact
This project will save thousands of kids from the horrible consequences of leaving school at a young age, but it will also allow them to be future engineers and doctors who will give back to their community. Funding this project is critical in achieving the United Nations' sustainable development goals #SDGs4
Our most exciting utility will be our real-world holiday resort, being setup in the Republic of Ireland. The resort will feature accommodations to book and onsite amenities, like mini golf. Holders will be able to stake their RIOT Penguins to earn our token and trade it to USDC/SOL from our liquidity pool which will be injected post mint. This holiday resort will continue to feed the RIOT Penguins LP and ensure its long-term sustainability.
As an added bonus, holders will receive a discount on bookings, should they choose to visit and stay at the resort and will also be able to use our token to make purchases in the resort. Our whales will also be granted VIP (Very Important Penguin) access to the resort, allowing for a free stay in the resort each year. You can bring friends and family with you as the accommodation will have 3 bedrooms. We have also teamed up with Lounge Key to offer discounts on flights and you can pay in crypto!
Our plans for the resort not only consist of accommodation, we also have plans for an onsite convenience store for the purchase daily essentials,an arcade with claw machines and other games, mini-golf, a bar, laundry facilities and a location on-site for tents and campervans, kitted out with toilet and showering facilities. We want to ensure there is something for everyone, whether you want to have a round of mini golf with the family, enjoy a cold one at the bar or have fun in the arcade. We are building something that will be around for many years to come and beyond. Myself and the other founder will be on-site everyday, managing the day to day operations of the resort.
We are also looking for fun ways to incorporate Crypto into the resort. We plan to sell some items in the resort and allow bookings in crypto. Projects we partner with may also have the opportunity to have things in the resort named after them and an ability to earn from these things. Imagine playing a round of Froots Mini-Golf and sitting down to enjoy a Bored Ape Solana Club Sandwich! The resort will also offer educational leaflets to patrons to encourage non-crypto users to get started in the world of crypto and NFTs as well as offer information on how to do that.
Why a holiday resort? The camping industry has continued growing in popularity in Ireland and with that has come demand for suitable sites. Our findings displayed a suitable gap in the market for us as the quality of our competition is quite poor, doing the bare minimum and still charging crazy nightly rates as they are not being contested. We have been to some of these sites and were both disappointed but at the same time excited as we knew we can do much better.
Where does RIOT Penguins tie into all this? Well aside from the park being themed around the project and having the perks of being a holder, RIOT Penguins also has a story. There is an extensive lore in our Discord that has been drip-fed to the community over time through intel and artefacts, all building on the mystery that leads up to our very own animated series. This series is a ways down the line but it will follow 4 Penguin characters, voiced and written by myself and our other founder Fizzy. The animated series will also feed a treasury (as will our merch store) for SOL Giveaways to holders. The holiday resort will appear as a significant location in this series and the penguins will uncover the secrets that lie beneath it. It may look innocent at first glance, but the secret underground lab begs to differ.
